It’s bigger than that
The project ‘It’s bigger than that’ was created in 2021, at the time when many laws started changing when it comes to abortion. Sadly many women suffered with the outcome of men deciding on what they should be able to do with their bodies, which lead to the ban of abortions in various states in America. This took the world by a storm, many people were outraged, yet nothing changed.
That is why I teamed up with a classmate to create ‘It’s bigger than that’. The idea is that Nike (a forward thinking company) would show where they stand on this matter as they have in the past with other news. Nike is one of the biggest companies in the world, everyone has heard of them, everyone wears their items and everyone loves them.
Thats when the concept kicked in, so how will we show the world where Nike stands with this matter? Nike has a very powerful online image, creating their Nike instagram in 2011 and as of today it has 306 million followers. Later on in 2013 nike created their Nike women instagram, currently it has over 7 million followers, hence Nike women would be the perfect first platform for them to voice their support, later on moving to the main Nike instagram.
How would this all look like?
After going over their Nike women and Nike instagram pulling various images they use and their style, we were able to create a mock up of ‘It’s bigger than that’ photos for Nike women/ Nike (instagrams) to post.
Another mockup for the Nike instagram however with a bit of a spin in comparison of the style they normally use.
But how could we create a bigger impact?
A filter.
The end outcome.
A filter which everyone could use created in collaboration with Nike.
Nike would first start using the filter encouraging others to use it to share their stories and opinions, it would be open to the whole public.
This would allow Nike to gain more followers through the use of the filter, allow their audience to voice their opinions and show the world that they stand with Women and pro choice.
